Design Build Interiors is passionate about the way a project can positively affect the way our clients and their families live and work. That’s why we founded Design Build Interiors in 2008. We wanted to build it right for our clients the first time, every time, and with our signature qualities: Always professional, no shortcuts. Recently we have escaped Sydney to the South Coast of NSW near Berry, from where we now base our operations. While we’ve changed location, our values and key staff remain the same. Our team of honest, hard-working builders delivers what we promise, on time and on budget. We take the responsibility of creating your dream home seriously, and we keep you informed every step of the way.

Design Build Interiors have home building experience both locally and abroad in New Zealand, the UK and USA. We are different from other builders because:

Meet our team

Adam Stephenson

Director

Adam is a Kiwi – we didn’t say he was perfect! He started his building career specialising in lock-wood timber homes construction, a unique technology in which walls are locked together and not nailed. In New Zealand he learnt the art of precision in building because if you are more than 4mm out anywhere in this type of building, the house simply couldn’t be put together. Few builders anywhere have mastered this type of building precision. Adam has painstakingly constructed more than 50 of these houses in his career. Adam then had a unique opportunity in the USA mastering steel frame construction (form work and fabrication) for massive commercial storage blocks and factories – so performing the same for residential homes is a piece of cake. In the US he learnt the true importance of delivering on time, because the client would lose serious revenue if it wasnt. And because there is no material that Adam hasnt worked with, Design Build Interiors clients benefit from a variety of possible solutions to suit any budget.

In London, Adam specialised in typical residential building requirements: knock-downs, conversions, extensions, everything you can possibly do to add value to your home. He faced some big challenges, like working in the snow, constant rain and freezing cold. Whats more, there were 300-year-old homes that were never level or structurally sound, so virtually every job needed underpinning, new floors or roofs re-pitched. In the UK Adam learnt to solve problems for clients fast, because he was constantly challenged by the worst conditions and new surprises. The result – Adam knows how to prepare for the unexpected, and his clients dont pay the price later in annoying variation costs.

On arriving in Australia, Design Build Interiors was born. Adam, originally a qualified tradesman, has vast experience, practical knowledge and an ability to successfully manage projects both on-site and behind the scenes. Adam always aims for perfection and possesses an ability to foresee and manage potential issues and problems. He loves what he does. Adam enjoys handing over a completed quality job to our clients, improving the way they live their lives. When Adam isn’t working he likes to spend time with his family, visit the beach, fish and watch rugby.

Becky Richards

Finance/General Manager

Becky brings more than 15 years of finance experience to Design Build Interiors and has worked in various finance departments across a range of industries. Becky focuses on the management and development of the financial and business systems for Design Build Interiors. She also is devoted to ensuring that the team is well-supported and delivers a high level of customer service.

Jay Hitches

Foreman

Foreman Jay has vast experience in residential, commercial and retail construction. His strong work ethic, desire for quality, and excellent communication and client service skills mean Jay is the perfect man to lead our team. Jay is our go-to man on-site and manages all aspects of on-site processes.
